Children hit sensory overload faster than adults and are far less able to say so. Engage Kids 2 takes the volume off a classroom, a party or a fireworks display while leaving a parent's voice audible.
Why Engage Kids 2
Built for smaller ears
16 dB of noise reduction
Enough to make a loud room manageable, not so much that a child feels cut off from what is happening.
Voices still get through
A teacher, a parent or a friend stays audible, which is what makes children willing to keep them in.
Sized and shaped for children
A smaller body and softer tips than the adult range, with a case that clips onto a school bag.
How it works
Gentle by design
The reduction here is deliberately moderate. A child who cannot hear an instruction or a warning will simply take the earplugs out, so the tuning aims to lower effort rather than to silence.
Fit and materials
Four sizes, washable
Check the fit every few months — ears grow. A tip that was right last year is usually the reason a pair 'stopped working'.
Good to know
Not for babies or toddlers
In-ear plugs are not appropriate for very young children. Loop Cocoon earmuffs are the right format for that age.
Getting the fit right
How to fit them
Choose the smallest tip that seals, and check both ears separately.
Pull the top of the ear gently up and back before inserting.
I have the smallest ear canals ever so I got the child size and am glad I did, and I wear the xs small tips on top of that. Really helps with overstimulating and loud movies at the theater. I'm a librarian and they also reallllyyy help me with open frame computer noise and annoying child screams and loud talking at work.
I have been looking at these earplugs for a very long time and finally put the bullet when I needed something to put in my ears while at work so I could concentrate on getting work done. And these are absolutely amazing! I have told all of my friends about them, and I’m looking into getting the sleep ones as well. I am a 34-year-old female and I did get the kids one and they fit absolutely perfect.
Bought them for my daughter as she doesn't like the noise in the lunch hall at school. They gave her defenders which are bulky and press into her head, but the loop earplugs are less intrusive and more comfortable. She loves them and always looks forward to using them.
wanted to try the kids version to compare sizing, and it’s a solid alternative for smaller ears. they’re especially a great option for children as an introduction to early hearing protection.
I love the Watermelon Red color! They feel really nice in my ears and they help me calm down when it’s too noisy around me. Sometimes I even wear them under my headphones. They are much easier to put in than other earplugs! The little case is so cute and helps me focus at school.
Not what I expected. They're basically adults one that are labelled for children with children colours. The plugs aren't any smaller and totally not suitable for my 7 year old even though they say 6+ They only just fit my 9 year old but she said they block noise well
I liked the Berry Blast color more than any of the ones marketed towards adults and, after reading other reviews, found they do indeed fit adults just fine. They also fit the Loop Mutes just fine too in case I need more quiet
So my kid was quite jealous of his parents, he also wanted his own loops. So eventually we caved and got him the engage kids. He picked out the colours and then started nagging us because it took too long to arrive (it took no more than three days) and now he wants to have them in everywhere he goes. These loops made a kid very very happy
I bought the engage because I am autistic, and sometimes life is just too loud but I still want to be a part of it all. These are perfect. I wear them at work when the office is too much, at events, in town, or even if I just need to calm down. They're so comfortable, I went for the kids version as I preferred the colours and I am so so happy with them! I keep them attached to my phone so I have access to them always.
My son (age 8) was struggling in his class because he found it too loud and very distracting. Using Loops has made a wild difference in his desire to go to school and pay attention. He was excited to have them (and I was grateful they have straps so they're not lost) and said that he could still hear everything well but it was not as loud. Plys they're comfortable! It's the best investment we made and I wish all kids had access to this option to self-soothe and carry on throughout the day at school.
These were a game changer for me. I have small ears as an adult so I was looking at them for that reason at first. then I found out that the tip sizes are same as newer model adult ones. But these colors are so much cuter! I love my blue and purple ones and especially the purple case! They go with me everywhere being AuDHD and have saved my sanity more than I can count.
Ze zitten een stuk beter dan andere beschermers die we geprobeerd hebben. Deze blijven ook zitten en vallen niet uit. Het geluid wordt genoeg gedempt. Blij kind!
I bought my first pair in 2021 to use for shows. (I’m a musician who spends a lot of time in loud venues) I accidentally wore them to my day job as a server after a jam one day and realized that I’d been overstimulated for an indefinite amount of time. I now have pairs on me at all times. Loops have completely changed my life for the better. I’ve been saying for years that I should be a loops sales person because I’ve gotten so many folks hooked. Thanks for the wonderful product!
I got these for my daughter. She presents as both types of adhd. At present she is un-medicated (that's a whole drama unto itself!) Amd she has been for around 4 months. I get weekly emails/messages/requests for meeting from the teacher complaining about her being distracted and so on, to the point I have very much considered home schooling just to stop the constant headache from this teacher. I bought these as a last ditch effort for sanity. I got NO MESSAGES FROM THE TEACHER last week!!! In fact, when I went to the school for the assembly, I was actually told she is less distracted AND actually doing her work in class. Yes she is not completely focused, she never will be with her little neuro brain, but she is actually doing work in class and staying somewhat focused. She even said to me that she "loves my loops. They get me in less trouble. " If that isn't praise enough from a kid, then I don't know what is! Thank you to whoever was the brains behind these.
Our son is in Grade 5 and, although he enjoys school, he has always struggled to stay focused in the classroom. He is easily distracted by background noise and conversations around him, which began affecting both his concentration and his grades. On top of this, he was experiencing daily headaches that seemed relentless. We tried medication to help manage them, but nothing provided lasting relief. During a parent-teacher interview, his teacher suggested trying Loop earplugs. To be honest, we were hesitant at first because of the cost and the possibility of them being lost. However, with the headaches continuing and no other solution working, we decided it was worth a try. The results were immediate. On his very first day wearing them, he came home excited and said, "No headaches today, Mum!" From that day on, the headaches significantly reduced, and he has been much happier at school. The Loops help him focus on what his teacher is saying while reducing the impact of distracting background noise. Sounds that would normally draw his attention away, such as other children talking or arguing, now fade into the background and don't affect his concentration in the same way. We are absolutely thrilled with this purchase. Not only have they helped improve his focus and engagement in the classroom, but they've also made a real difference to his overall wellbeing. For any parent whose child struggles with classroom noise, concentration, or sensory overwhelm, we would highly recommend giving Loop earplugs a try.
My family and I live in a small townhouse. My young children are 6 and 8. I love them very much, but the fact is that they are very loud. My new Loops are great for times when I need to do a task and do not want sudden loud noises bouncing off my eardrums while I am trying to focus. I can still hear my children just fine with my Loops in, but yelling and whining are softer sounds and less agitating. Honestly, I wish I had purchased these years ago.
My daughter who is on the autism spectrum struggled so much in school and dance to focus without getting easily disregulated and this one simple product has made such a HUUUGE difference! All of her teachers and our dance peers have noticed a drastic change in her and are now purchasing pairs for their own children. We 100% recommend these for any children struggling with auditory input and noise! Best thing we’ve done 🙌
While the product itself is great the case needs a major redesign as it currently is a fidget toy for kids. I bought my kid a pair as part of her IPP for school to help minimize the noisy classroom however she couldn't resist playing with the case and lost one before the school day ended. Kids who suffer from ADHD often fixate on cases like this since it has a great locking sound. If your intended target is for kids who suffer from things like ADHD you need to understand other issues or fixations when designing products start to finish for them.
My 9 year-old daughter experiences sound sensitivity at times where one loud sound can set off a reaction where all sounds are then too loud for the remainder of the day. It only happens randomly. Nothing has worked to stop this reaction to sound once it starts, and it only improves the next day after she has slept all night. This started to cause her a lot of anxiety in general, and especially sleep anxiety as she was constantly worried it would happen again the next day. I bought LOOP Engage Kids 2 earplugs for her to wear on days where she has a reaction that causes all sounds to be too loud so she can cope for the remainder of the day if needed. The first time she had a loud sound reaction she put them in and wore them for 60 minutes. Sounds were much more comfortable for her during that hour. After she took them out, her sound sensitivity had returned to her normal baseline. This has been such a blessing and I can't stress enough how much this has helped her. She keeps her earplugs in her school backpack so she will never be without them there. I am going to purchase a 2nd set of earplugs for her that I will keep in my purse for emergencies outside of school. Thank you for making Loop Engage for kids!
I am an avid loop user. I have the sleep, two pairs for myself, a pair for my son, and any time I know someone is going into the hospital, this and silk pajamas are my go to gift. My daughter is in first grade and is constantly getting headaches from noise at school. I bought her these along with the necklace holder, and it’s been great. She’s been headache free for weeks. The necklace design is so perfect for little kids. It’s magnetic so it’s easy to use and keep track of the earplugs.
I got these because my 7 year old daughter was refusing to do things or go places because the sound was so high. I had used regular foam ear plugs and my out ear buds, but she would ram them in her ears or jam her fingers in and but then couldn’t do anything else. I did some research and this seemed like a positive solution for the price and claimed experience. My daughter really likes them, can still hear my voice or the voices of those near her without the big loud sounds that were causing her trouble before. We have tried them at restaurants, a ballet, and soccer games. They have make her experience 10x better, no tears, no drama, just playing nicely or watching. My older daughter almost 10 tried them out in a restaurant and don’t want to give them back. Said it made her feel calmer. And wanted her ow pair . When asked why she liked them her response was “Cuz and they actually work. You can hear what you need to hear still”.
These earplugs help with regulation. Took my child a little while to get used to how to put them in correctly. My kid has a lot of earwax like many kids do, so it would be nice if Loop had an option for storing a cleaning cloth in the case that could be used during the day so that they can be gently wiped down between uses (otherwise they collect dust and dirt). Since I'm not with my child in the school day when Loops are being used, it's difficult to know how clean they actually are being kept.
Bought these for my daughter who has autism and has been unable to eat with us for the last 6months due to finding the sound uncomfortable. As soon as she wore these, she was able to share a meal with us all, and was so happy. Takes them to school for when assembly or classroom is loud in order to help focus. An excellent product. Might need to get another pair - one for home, one for school- so she’s never without.
Got these for my 10 year old son for him to use in school, due to being very sensory sensitive. They work as promised and he wears them from the morning and until he is back home from school. I was worried that he would be bothered by the feeling of wearing them, since he is very sensory sensitive and he prefers headphones (but he don’t want to wear those in class at school, because they are obviously very visible and he does not want to stick out from the other kids in that way). But fortunately, wearing the loop earplugs, does not bother him at all! So I am so very happy and satisfied by that and with this purchase.
Fourth pair of loops, I've tried them all except the Quiet ones, and the Engages are a non negotiable for my life. They make being out in loud spaces like restaurants and bars much more tolerable. They are my go to earplugs for any time I am feeling generally overstimulated. I bought the kids ones to replace my old OG Engage earplugs as they've been through the wash a couple times and the tips don't stay on so well anymore. I like the cute color selections and the smaller ear tips that the kids edition offers. I also bought a set for my friend who works with children and she said they've been a dream for her.
I got these for my 11 year-old niece who is HSP like my sister and me. She struggles with noisy classrooms and changingrooms at school sometimes comes home completely overstimulated. She first tried these earplugs at the birthdayparty right after opening her package. While everyone was talking, music was playing in the background and so on, she could sit there and happily read her birthday-letters right away. She was really happy already after that and even more after trying them out at school for the first time. She said "They safed my ears at music-class, and they are very soft. " The XS-tips fit her very small ears perfectly and she has no issues wearing them.
I’m really impressed with these earplugs. They’re comfortable enough to wear for hours, and they reduce noise without making everything sound muffled or distorted. My son can still hear conversations clearly, just at a much more manageable level. The fit feels secure, and they’re much more discreet and stylish than regular foam earplugs. They’ve made concerts, travel, and even sleeping so much more comfortable. Definitely worth it if you want something effective, reusable, and well-designed.
I bought 3 sets of loop engage. For myself ( shopping centres and noisy places in general) I bought engage. For my daughters engage kids. They are using them in school. It helps them with classroom noise, easier to concentrate. They even use it in PE. We all have different sizes. The 6 year old is using xs, my 9 year old is using s and I’m using a medium. We all love our loops. It made a big difference in our lives and even the teachers have noticed the benefits.
I bought these for my daughter who will be 6 in two months time. She fits the medium tips. She needs help putting them in. So far she hasn't tried them in the classroom yet, but she has tried them on at home. I thought they might be more discreet and effective than noise cancelling headphones. She loves the watermelon colour combo. I recommend buying the loop to attach to help keep them safe. I also wrapped a small sticker name label around the chord for safe keeping.
I ordered the loop engage kids for my daughter to help her with noise sensitivity at school. She says they really help, are comfortable to wear and easy to put in. I have noticed she is coming home a lot happier and less over stimulated. She is using them in situations where there is a lot of noise such as music class, school assemblies and sports. We have also used them when going to the shopping centre and other environments with a lot of background noise. I have noticed she is a lot calmer and manages better with the loop earbuds. We also purchased the necklace.
